The Azure Customer Experience (CXP) team is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to build and deploy highly-scalable, low-latency and extensible services that enable customers to get proactive recommendations and best practices, track the status of Azure outages, receive self-help diagnostics and troubleshooting and allow customer to quickly connect with Microsoft support when they need help. In addition to our services, we also integrate with many other services in the Azure ecosystem.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an energetic, hands-on Senior Software Engineering Manager to join a fast-paced team responsible for deploying and maintaining our existing services as well as developing new services in a secure cloud environment. This role will manage team members working across the entire stack on a variety of tasks including front-end and back-end development, database design, networking and security. Additionally, this role will participate in all stages of our engineering lifecycle from initial research and discovery, quick iteration on promising concepts, and solution prototyping and development, all the way through successful service roll-out and live site support. Key activities include:

Manage talented and driven team of software and site reliability engineers in support of Azure CXP products

Qualifications

Professional development experience in a modern programming language (C#, C++, Java or equivalent)

Demonstrated technical knowledge of distributed system design, interactions between cloud technology layers and components, functions of virtual and physical networking and security.

Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate across a diverse team

6+ years technical experience in software engineering or related field

OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in software engineering

3+ years people management experience

The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
