The Hardware Control Service (HCS) team is responsible for building and operating world class software services for Azure hardware infrastructure development. Hardware Control Services provide a platform for telemetry gathering and failure detection policies processing, delivers post-failure root cause analysis, and enables FW deployment through infrastructure tooling and health/progress monitoring. The HCS team is constantly innovating on the infrastructure to meet the growing needs for Azure across regions and customers.

We live and breathe the engineering culture that many web companies (both large and small) are increasingly adopting, where a single engineer wears all the hats necessary to design, implement, validate and release great features. We collaborate closely with product teams at Microsoft as well as internally to ensure we are maximizing efficiency in the system.

Responsibilities

Design, build and run services at high scale and availability

Perform live site/dev ops engineering for services with top notch monitoring, dashboards and troubleshooting guides

Promote practices that ensure high-quality, scalability, stability and performance

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of designing, implementing microservices and hands on code in any of the following languages (C#/C/C++/Java)

• 5+ years of operating microservices including being part of on call rotation and debugging live site issues

• 2+ years of mentoring engineers

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements?include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
