We are seeking a motivated software engineer who is passionate about working in cloud-scale distributed systems spanning hundreds of thousands of nodes. The candidate will work on building and maintaining cloud services/software stack that monitor and manage cloud hardware – monitoring health of the cloud, taking smart actions on hardware health events and improving overall cloud hardware availability and performance. Towards this, the candidate would work on building software stack on windows-based systems.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

Development of client and server-side REST-based web services

Monitor, diagnose and repair of service health and performance in production

Inter service communication via certificate/token based authentication technologies

Work with customers to learn live site issues and translate them in to new feature asks or bug fixes

Academic qualifications:

Ph.D in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering OR M.S. in Computer Science with 2 years of development experience OR B.S. in Computer Science with 4 years of development experience

Programming languages:

Proficiency in one or more of the following: C# or other Object oriented languages.

Knowledgeable in C, Python and scripting languages

Fundamentals:

Possess a sound understanding of fundamentals of Computer Science including algorithms, data structures, object oriented design, multi-threading and distributed systems.

Great problem solving and design skills, with demonstrated passion for quality, performance, and service excellence.

Good communications skills for effective collaboration and customer/partner correspondence

Experience with Azure services and database query language such as SQL/kusto is desired but optional
