As part of Xbox Product Services (XPS), Xbox Community (XBC) supports the growth and happiness of our broader gaming community, including ensuring the safety and security all our members. We provide thought leadership and execute on growing a truly inclusive community wherever people play games.

XBC seeks a strong technical engineer to guide and facilitate collaboration and technical excellence for groups across XBC, as well as with various internal partners across Xbox. This engineer will have a sincere desire to have real impact across the organization with a holistic view across Xbox to ensure we are maximizing our ability to inclusively grow the Xbox network. This person will partner with leads, client and service engineers, decision science, Trust and Safety, and Product in pursuit of designing, implementing, and bringing to fruition full-stack, multi-endpoint experiences to surprise and delight our community. The successful candidate will be a multi-dimensional thinker who can leverage past full-stack learnings and integrate them in a player-centric way, balancing the needs of sustainable technology, business reality, and team cohesion.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver technology underlying social experiences from incubation stage to scaled solutions and technical direction and strategy of Xbox Community features.

Drive inclusive network growth across all endpoints (console(s), PC, mobile, web) to the next generation of gamers everywhere on the globe.

Partner with Decision Science, Trust & Safety, Design, and Product to build positive working relationships, identify growth opportunities, and define experiences.

Partner with internal teams to ensure that new products and services have a smooth path to scaling to our growing community within our committed SLA.

Guide and mentor junior team members.

Help build a high-performing and inclusive engineering culture.

Be a role model and active participant in creating a culture of inclusion and respect within the organization.

Qualifications

Required

6+ years’ experience in designing, developing, and shipping software.

2+ years’ experience full-stack experience across from client to cloud.

2+ years’ experience with (at least) weekly live operations.

Experience with live-ops telemetry and data-based decision making.

Experience building positive partnerships between teams.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Highly effective communication skills.

Preferred

Experience with AutoPilot/Azure services, ReactJS/Native, XAML, and C#/C++/TypeScript a plus.

Bachelor's/Master’s Degree or equivalent experience.
