We have an immediate opening for a Senior Software Engineer. This position will design and develop security solutions for high security environments across multiple business units at Microsoft. If you enjoy solving security problems with code and have the desire to build greenfield solutions, this is the role for you.

The ideal candidate will have several years of deep technical experience designing, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise-class solutions. Excellent communication and collaborative skills are a must as you will be presenting and interacting with senior leadership and engineers both within the org and across multiple business groups within Microsoft.

We are the EDG Security team. Our cybersecurity team supports the Windows, XBOX, and Surface businesses. We drive security programs which achieve results and are looking for candidates who are excited about security and solving today’s cyber security problem.

Responsibilities

Develop defensive security solutions which promote strong security baselines.

Align development practices and repositories to security standards.

Leverage data to achieve and demonstrate business impact and results.

Customer-obsessed, both for the solutions developed and the experiences they create.

Drive secure infrastructure deployments with software engineering solutions (software defined security).

Exceptional partner, as we design and collaborate across many teams across the company.

Co-develop reference architectures which can be leveraged across a broad consumer base.

Assess and recommend security-based architecture changes.

Willing to dive into details technically and drive for win/win solutions.

Passion in creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive culture where individual and teams can do their best work and unlock their potential.

Qualifications

Required:

5+ years of experience in professional software development.

3+ years in cyber security with a focus on secure infrastructure or secure application design.

BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical experience.

Improve Security and take customer’s requirements into account.

Technical background in Windows, Cloud security, infrastructure security, identity management and Azure.

Preferred:

Experience developing, deploying and supporting cloud-based or hybrid software solutions.

Experience developing, deploying and supporting on-prem software solutions.

Windows and/or Linux OS platform experience.

Demonstrated coding skills in one or more popular languages and platforms such as: C#, C++, Ruby, Python, and others.

CISSP, OSCP, GCIA, or SANS certifications is a plus.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
