The Outlook Application Platform team builds the cross-platform shared core client and service components powering multiple Outlook experiences - the modern Mail and Calendar apps on Windows 10, Outlook Mobile on Android and iOS, and Outlook on Mac. The platform includes the Sync Engine and protocols, networking, client SDK used by Outlook clients, client side storage, read/write low level APIs, versioning, data migration across updates, replication to platform specific store and search index, data protection and encryption features like EDP, S/MIME, and client side scalability and performance all up to enable the fastest API set to deliver mail, calendar and people on iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows 10 supporting millions of customers in their daily lives.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing enhancements to the platform, adding support for new features to the Outlook family of apps to deliver experiences customers will love. Write well-factored, well-tested, well-instrumented code to ensure it functions well. Use telemetry to discover bugs, customer pain points, and other opportunities for improvements in the platform. Work closely with Outlook app engineers to deliver seamless experiences at scale.

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent experience

5+ years OOP development experience, preferable C++ (cross-platform experience is a huge plus)

Strong customer focus

Excellent project management and communication skills

Excellent cross-team collaboration skills

Strongly preferred: design platform to enable scalable, responsive, and performant client applications, multi-threaded application.
